Hand in hand, Guangzhou and Hong Kong students unite, sharing stories of sisterhood in joyful reunion

Led by our School Manager Chan, Principal Lai, Vice Principal Lui, and Assistant Principal Chan, 31 teachers and students visited our sister school, Guangzhou Zhixin High School Pazhou Experimental School.

At the welcoming ceremony, Principal Zhang hoped that teachers and students would be fellow travelers in educational ideals and inheritors of Chinese culture, becoming responsible for societal development. Principal Lai highlighted the cultural ties between Guangzhou and Hong Kong, stating that this exchange offers a valuable platform for students to showcase their talents.

After the ceremony, our teachers and students participated in creating traditional Chinese medicine sachets. Teachers and students from both schools crafted the sachets, gaining insight into the depth of traditional Chinese medicine culture.

In the afternoon, we gathered in our school’s gymnasium and jointly performed the “Ode to Hong Kong, Echoes of the Pearl River” music exchange concert. On stage, our school’s Chinese orchestra opened the concert with a piece, “Golden Snake Dance.” Subsequently, classic pieces such as “Shaanbei Lyric,” “The Sun is Red Over Jinggang Mountain,” “Ju Ju Shuang,” “General’s Order,” “Thunder in the Drought,” and “Golden Pasture” were performed in succession, blending Chinese and Western styles, full of charm, and showcasing the unique allure of Guangzhou and Hong Kong music.

Even though our time together was brief, this exchange activity truly enriched the bond and understanding between the two schools. Students from Guangzhou and Hong Kong created a wonderful bridge of communication through music, nurturing the seeds of friendship to blossom in their hearts. We are excited to keep collaborating and to craft a beautiful new chapter in educational cooperation ahead!
