At our school, we believe that the moral development of parents is essential for shaping their children’s character and values. To support this, we established the “HLC Parent Academy,” which offers vital parenting education through various programs and engaging activities aimed at strengthening parent-child relationships. On October 26, 2024, the school hosted the “HLC Parent Academy – Star Parent Lecture,” featuring Ms. Mak Ho Siu-kuen. She delivered an insightful talk on “How to Cultivate Children’s Self-Confidence and Self-Learning Ability.” Ms. Mak, the mother of the renowned Miss Hong Kong, Louisa Mak Ming-sze, is a registered occupational therapist with a master’s degree in education and a postgraduate diploma in gifted education. With over 35 years of clinical experience in child development, she shared practical strategies for enhancing children’s self-confidence and fostering independent learning. Parents actively participated in the discussion, asking questions that deepened their understanding of their children’s learning needs and enabling them to provide more effective support.
