Teaching and Learning Highlights

The Visual Arts Department is dedicated to empowering students to become proactive, lifelong learners. Our dynamic curriculum integrates cross-curricular collaborations, such as partnering with the Chinese departments on the junior form "Community Past and Present" theme, and teaming up with the Library for expressive ink art activities to promote extensive reading and mental health. We employ differentiated strategies, including after-school individual tutorials, to cater to diverse learning styles and needs. To foster essential soft skills, students actively engage in group presentations, public speaking, and self-directed learning initiatives.


We actively integrate STEAM and Arts Technology into our curriculum. In addition to utilising digital platforms such as Procreate and Mental Canvas, we have introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools across all forms for the first time this year. This aims to develop students' capabilities in applying information and digital technologies to keep abreast of societal changes, enhance their creativity and problem-solving skills, and foster their ability and attitude towards technological innovation. Furthermore, we actively incorporate National Security Education by guiding students to appreciate and create using Chinese cultural techniques, such as Chinese ink and calligraphy, fostering a strong sense of national identity and cultural confidence.

視覺藝術科致力培育學生成為積極主動的終身學習者。我們推行多元化的跨學科協作,例如與中文科合作探討初中「社區昔與今」主題,並與圖書館合辦結合廣泛閱讀與水墨藝術的活動,以促進學生的閱讀興趣與心理健康。為培養演講技巧,課程涵蓋小組匯報及自主學習活動 。


我們積極將 STEAM 與藝術科技融入課程,除了運用 Procreate 和 Mental Canvas 等數碼平台外,今年更首次於各級引入人工智能 (AI) 工具,培養學生運用資訊與數碼科技的能力,以配合社會的轉變,提升學生創意和解決難題的能力,並培養運用科技創新的能力和態度。價值觀教育亦貫穿各項主題,重點推廣同理心、和諧及學校核心價值。此外,本科積極落實國家安全教育,引導學生欣賞及學習中國水墨與書法等傳統文化技巧,從而增強文化自信並提升國民身份認同 。

The Form 2 Visual Arts and Chinese subjects collaborated to explore the theme 'Community: Past and Present,' using AI tools to generate Chinese painting style reference images from photos of old buildings, which were then painted by students in a collaborative format. 中二級視覺藝術與中文科合作探討「社區昔與今」主題,先運用人工智能 (AI) 工具將舊區的舊樓照片生成為水墨風格參考圖,再以合作畫形式繪畫出來。

Form 2 Urban Planning Project: Students leveraged Procreate to illustrate new town designs, followed by the use of Mental Canvas to convert their concepts into immersive videos that break the boundaries of 2D space.
