Global Perspective Dialogue: Social Etiquette

The Global Perspective Dialogue session, co-organized by the Sustainability Development Committee and the English Department, proved to be an enriching and enjoyable experience for our students. Through meaningful interactions with international guests, participants explored social etiquette from various cultures, gaining insights into how everyday actions and gestures reflect societal norms and values.

The session ignited lively discussions, with students exhibiting remarkable enthusiasm and confidence in sharing their thoughts and experiences. Many were eager to compare cultural practices in Hong Kong with those of other nations, resulting in a fruitful exchange of ideas, particularly concerning social etiquette and cultural expectations.

In addition to enhancing their English communication skills, students also developed greater empathy and cultural awareness. The open and respectful dialogue facilitated a better understanding of potential culture shocks and fostered an appreciation for the richness of cultural diversity.

It was genuinely encouraging to witness students actively engaging, listening with curiosity, and learning from one another. This meaningful exchange has further inspired them to embrace cultural differences and communicate with confidence in a global context.
