Organised by the Asia Pacific Research Institute for STEAM and Maker Education Limited, the Career Planning: AI Design Industry Visit & Exchange Forum offered students an enriching opportunity to explore the forefront of technological innovation in Hong Kong. During the visit to the headquarters of Oodles Tech, students gained firsthand insight into the dynamic world of AI design and smart technology development. The event was graced by Mr. Duncan Chiu, Legislative Council Member representing the Technology and Innovation constituency, who delivered an inspiring keynote on the future of Hong Kong’s innovation landscape and the critical role young talent will play in shaping it. Further deepening the experience, the Chairman of Tak Hop Group (or the Head of R&D at Oodles Tech) shared valuable perspectives on the research and development process, including how technical challenges are overcome and how Internet of Things (IoT) applications are transforming industries and daily life.
The forum also featured an interactive Q&A session, allowing students to engage directly with industry leaders and deepen their understanding of career pathways in technology. To conclude, students participated in a group-based mini design competition, where they applied their creativity and problem-solving skills to propose innovative solutions inspired by what they had learned. This activity not only broadened students’ understanding of AI and smart technologies but also encouraged them to reflect on their own aspirations and potential contributions to Hong Kong’s innovation ecosystem.
